Gov Barasa Sends a Message to Salasya After He Was Attacked

Kakamega county government governor Fernandes Barasa has cried to the speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula following a fracas that involved lawmaker Peter Salasya.

The fracas happened at Bukaya Catholic church where the bodyguards attached to the lawmaker were forced to swing into action after the legislator was roughed up by some goons.

The governor is now accusing the bodyguards attached to the legislator of coming to the fundraising ceremony with hidden agendas. He claims the bodyguards came armed with knives and other weapons.

“Mr speaker before you arrived here, there was a bit of drama involving the Mumias East lawmaker. His bodyguards came here with a different agenda loaded knives,” he alleged.

Through the office the speaker, the county chief demanded that the speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula oversees the disarmament of the MP’s bodyguards.

“I want Mr Speaker through your office that the bodyguards who drew firearms be disarmed,” he demanded.

Barasa went on and accused the lawmaker of being confused and accused the people of Mumias East of making uniformed decisions.

It should be however be noted that the legislator was peacefully addressing the congregation when the microphone was agrresively snatched from him.
