Ruto Makes Major Changes in KDF Department Amidst Recruitment

President William Ruto, on Friday, promoted several officers in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) after consultation with Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.

Ruto promoted Major General Fatuma Gaiti Ahmed to Senior Directing Staff Air and posted her to the National Defence College.

Brigadier Dennis Nyaga Njue Kamuri was promoted to Maj Gen and appointed Managing Director of Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation.

Brigadier Mohamed Nur Hassan was promoted to Maj Gen and appointed General Officer Commanding Border Security Command.Colonel Sylvester Kipkorir Chirchir was promoted to Brig and appointed Deputy Director Directorate of National Security Industries.

In a statement issued on Friday by the Director of Public Communications, Ministry of Defence, Bogita Ongeri said the changes were made following a recommendation of the Defence Council.

The council is chaired by Defence CS Aden Duale.

This comes weeks after Gen Francis Ogolla was named the new Chief of Defence Forces in changes in the military.

Ogolla took over from General Robert Kibochi who departed after attaining the mandatory exit age of 62.
