The Commission Interviewed 1,376 teachers holding positions of Heads and Deputy Heads of institutions in ASAL (arid and semi-arid lands) and hard-to-staff areas who were seeking promotions.

TSC promoted 1,040 teachers up the scales from categories ranging from the Chief Principal to Senior Teacher II categories.

Under this category, 53 Chief Principals, 51 Senior Principals, 49 principals, 33 Deputy Principal I, 15 Deputy Principal II, 16 Senior Lecturers I, 34 Curriculum Support Officers I, 9 Curriculum Support Officers II, 18 Senior Lecturers II, 296 Senior Head Teachers I and II, 466 Senior Teachers I and II were promoted.

Another 923 holding headteacher and deputy headteacher positions in arid and semi-arid lands (ASAL) joined the pack.

The teachers holding positions in ASAL, according to the TSC, were deliberately promoted to affirm an action of growth to them. TSC said all promotions are based on Career Progression Guidelines (CPGs) for teachers.

A minimum of 53 teachers have been selected to move to the position of Chief Principal. 4o teachers will be promoted to seniors’ principal positions and 49 will move up to take principal slots.

Some 33 teachers passed the interviews and will take up the slots for Deputy principal. 15 will move to take Deputy principal II slots.

Another 16 teachers have been selected for promotion for the senior lecture I position as 18 will be promoted to senior lecture II.

TSC has also selected some 34 teachers to be promoted to curriculum support officer I as nine will be promoted to curriculum offer II. Some 63 teachers are set to rise up to senior head teachers’ positions.

The communication also shows that some 233 teachers will take up deputy headteacher II promotions. Another 233 will be posted to the senior headteacher I positions and a similar number selected to assume senior II slots.

Deputy Principals II T-Scale 12 (D2) will get increased perks. The teachers will take home a monthly payment of Sh91,041 which comes with an increased monthly Commuter allowance (to Sh13,000), monthly House Allowance (to Sh50,000), and annual Leave Allowance (to Sh10,000).

There are Senior Lecturers I T-Scale 12 (D2) who will get a monthly salary of Sh91,041. This comes with an increase in monthly Commuter allowance (to Sh13,000), Annual Leave Allowance (to Sh10,000), and monthly House Allowance (to Sh50,000).

The Deputy Principals II T-Scale 11 (D1) will receive a monthly pay of betweenSh77,840and Sh85,269. This will come with an increase in monthly Commuter allowance (to Sh12,000), Annual Leave Allowance (to Sh10,000), and monthly House Allowance (to Sh45,000)

The Curriculum Support Officers T-Scale 10 (C5) will receive a monthly pay of betweenSh62,272 and Sh64,631.

This will come with an increase in monthly Commuter allowance (to Sh8,000), Annual Leave Allowance (to Sh6,000), and monthly House Allowance (to Sh35,000).

The Head Teachers 10 (C5) will receive a monthly pay of between Sh62,272 andSh64,631. This will come with an increase in monthly Commuter allowance (Sh8,000), Annual Leave Allowance (to Sh6,000), and monthly House Allowance (to Sh35,000).

The Senior Master’s IV T-Scale 9 (C4) will receive a monthly pay of Sh52,308. This will come with an increase in monthly Commuter allowance (to Sh8,000), Annual Leave Allowance (to Sh6,000), and monthly House Allowance (to Sh28,000).

The Deputy Head Teachers II T-Scale 9 (C4) will equally receive a monthly pay of Sh52,308. This will come with an increase in monthly Commuter allowance (to Sh8,000), Annual Leave Allowance (to Sh6,000), and monthly House Allowance (to Sh28,000).
