Whereabout of Makueni Speaker After Escaping Police Arrest

Azimio la Umoja co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has finally revealed the whereabouts of Makueni County Speaker Douglas Mbilu.

Mbilu has been no show in the public for weeks now after he allegedly escaped being arrested by DCI officers during the latest anti-government protests.

Prior to his missing Mbilu was on Monday, July 24, 2023, arrested after he surrendered at Wote Police Station in Makueni County.

Mbilu was arrested by DCI officers and ferried to an unknown destination shortly after he surrendered to the police station at Wote.

Before he presented himself to the police, the law enforcers had launched a hunt on the speaker over his alleged involvement in anti-government protests that took place in Emali township in the course of last month.

Speaking in Makueni on Tuesday, 15th August, Wiper Party leader said that a number of leaders from his Ukambani backyard surrender in the hands of police following recent opposition protests.

He said that some of them like the Makueni speaker got scared by the government operation that was targeting opposition influential leaders and was forced into hiding.

He says that Mbilu whereabouts were not known but he had received information that the speaker was outside the country.

Kalonzo who was speaking Makueni during a burial ceremony of Brian Malika who was shot during protests did not mention the exact country where Mbilu found home.
