UHURU FINALLY BREAKS SILENCE

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has moved with speed to reclaim his spot as the leader of Jubilee party hours after he was ousted.

On Tuesday, Jubilee party announced that Sabina Chege had officially replaced Uhuru as the party leader. However, the move has now been termed as null.

In a statement to the press, the faction led by Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni revealed that they did not recognize the decision made by the Kanini Kega-led faction to replace Uhuru with Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege.

The statement highlighted that the ouster did not follow the party’s constitution, and therefore Uhuru remained the Jubilee Party chairman.

“The Party Leader has overall authority over all party officials and organs. The Jubilee Party Constitution does not envisage a situation where a rebel group can evict a party leader from his position,” the statement read.

The statement also detailed that any rebel group meetings held in clandestine locations and subsequent minutes and resolutions were null and void. The Jubilee Party lamented that the rebel group that ousted Uhuru as Jubilee Party leader did so with the blessings of the government.

“The rebel group is being commandeered from State House with Kenya Kwanza showing a blatant disrespect and disregard to multiparty democracy,” the party added.
