POWERFUL MAN UHURU HAS INVITED TO HIS TODAY’S EVENT

Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga will indeed be among the people to grace the Jubilee Party’s National Delegates Convention (NDC) slated to happen today, the party leadership has confirmed.

Embattled Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has said that Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and other leaders forming the opposition will also attend the event to be headed by Jubilee boss Uhuru Kenyatta.

The former Ndaragwa Member of Parliament has also stated that they expect between 4,000 and 5,000 delegates from around the country at the NDC to be held at Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi.

He has made the remarks while bashing the rival team that has termed the NDC illegal, asking it’s members, led by EALA MP Kanini Kega, to attend the NDC and tell members what they really want.

“Anyone with dissenting views about this NDC should come here and challenge the former president and seek leadership positions within the party,” the close ally of the former President, has told The Standard.

He has added that nothing stops a former President from having a political party, asking Kega and Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege to stop pressuring Uhuru to retire from politics.

“If you want to retire, retire and leave us with our own leader. In the US and other developed democracies, we see retired presidents remaining in their parties. Why do we want ours to leave?” he is quoted.

The two claim to have replaced him and Uhuru, with Chege claiming to be the new party leader. Kega, on the other hand, has been carrying out roles preserved for the Secretary General of the outfit.

Raila’s expected attendance will mirror last year’s events which saw Uhuru and Jubilee members attend the ODM NDC.  Raila and allies also attended Jubilee’s such function.
