Popular Jubilee MP Removed From Her Position

National Assembly Speaker, Honorable Moses Wetangula, yielded to mounting pressure exerted by the Jubilee faction aligned with President Uhuru Kenyatta, following their impassioned demonstration at Parliament buildings today.

Wetangula faced allegations of shielding embattled Jubilee MP Hon. Sabina Chege. The Azimio coalition had previously submitted a letter to the speaker, officially informing him of Sabina Chege’s removal from her position as the deputy minority leader.

However, the Jubilee NEC defended the embattled nominated MP as they wrote another letter to the speaker of the national assembly telling him that the status quo remains since Azimio never consulted the Jubilee party over her removal.

The tag of war between the former Muranga woman member of Parliament and the Uhuru faction of Jubilee proceeded to the courts where the court ruled in favor of Azimio la Umoja.

Today, Moses Wetangula has yielded to pressure from the Jubilee faction allied to Uhuru as he has declared that Sabina Chege ceases to be the deputy Minority whip and Mwenje replace her with immediate effect.
