11:59 PM on Tuesday night to 4 AM on Wednesday
The service disruption has been effected to allow for maintenance of the company’s systems.

“Our MPESA services shall be undergoing planned maintenance tonight Tuesday 21st September 2021, starting from 2359hrs to Wednesday 0400 hrs.

During the maintenance all MPESA services including airtime purchase shall be temporarily unavailable,” Safaricom said in a statement.

The giant telco further revealed that the timing of the shutdown has been scheduled to ensure there is least disruption to customers.

Kenya is currently under a nationwide 10 PM – 4 AM curfew, meaning very little will be going on during the service disruption.
