SAFARICOM ANNOUNCES DISRUPTION OF MPESA

Safaricom on Sunday issued a notice informing its customers of planned maintenance that will disrupt the mobile money transfer service MPesa.

In a notice, the telecommunication company said that MPesa will undergo a scheduled maintenance exercise from 1.00 am to 1:20 am.

This will affect all M-Pesa services on early Monday morning for twenty minutes.

“All other services including calls, data and SMS will remain available as usual,” a notice read.

The company said the timing of the maintenance had been planned to result in the least inconvenience to their customers.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for supporting us,” the telco said in the notice on Sunday.

The telco giant has been operating M-Pesa for 15 years. It ushered in a new period of mobile money transaction that is now popular in the country.
