Turn of Events as Kioni Now Joins Gachagua’s in This

Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni, who is also a member of Azimio bipartisan technical team, has echoed Rigathi Gachagua’s remarks that ongoing talks were going to fail.

Kioni told off Ruto’s members on the committee, stating that Kenyans were suffering, and there was no need to proceed with bipartisan talks.

Earlier, DP Gachagua predicted the same, arguing that talks with Raila were a waste of time.

The drama happened on Thursday when Hassan Omar berated Mr. Kioni for his recent remarks at a press conference that the talks appeared designed to fail. This triggered a bitter exchange between the two that lasted for a few minutes before they were stopped by the co-chairs, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.

He later stormed out of the meeting, declining to join the team for a press briefing. Accounts of the incident were corroborated by another participant in the talks.

Mr. Kioni has since called for the termination of the bipartisan talks, terming them “a waste of time.”
