Oparanya Taken to Court For Land Grabbing

Former Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya who is one of the top Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition’s principals have allegedly been taken to kisumu court.

As relayed by a report covered on Tuesday’s Standard publication, a man who lost a land case to Oparanya has now moved to court of appeal in kisumu seeking the reversal of orders that were issued by a court in Kakamega.

According to him, Oparanya during his tenure as Kakamega governor established a health center on his land without any consent.

However in response, Oparanya refuted claims of trespassing through the old man’s land.

Also, he argues that the Kakamega court illegally dismissed his case. As a result, he’s now seeking compensation, eviction orders among other benefits.

” I was summoned by the registrar to go to the ground alongside momanyi when the matter arose. The person who sold momanyi land was also there and he admitted his decision “, Oparanya said.

Apparently, this is a major setback for Oparanya who is another fight with Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission ( EACC) over misuse of public funds during his tenure as governor.

On the other side, Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition’s chief Raila Odinga has threatened to resume mass action demonstrations should the ongoing talks fail.
