LIST OF PERFORMING GOVERNORS BY INFOTRAK

Once again Kakamega governor and Council of Governors Chairman Wycliffe Oparanya has emerged among the top performing governors, this time taking the top seat.

This according to the latest survey conducted by Infotrak which was released on Wednesday, October 28.

The poll gave Oparanya an impressive ranking of 82.3%. Coming second is Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya with a score of 77.1%. Kivutha Kibwana who has topped the list severally, came a close third with a score of 74.4%.

The surprise in the list was Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o the Kisumu governor. He came fourth of the rankings with a score of 65.9%.

Among the top ten most performing governors are:

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua (65.1%), West Pokot’s John Lonyangapuo (64.2%), Uasin Gishu’s Jackson Mandago (63.5%), Tharaka Nithi’s Muthomi Njuki (62.6%), Turkana’s Josephat Nanok (62.5%), and Bomet’s Hillary Barchok (60.6%).

The ranking was based on service delivery of devolved functions such as health, education and agriculture.

Oparanya’s Kakamega came first in terms of county development at 57.2% beating out Kwale (54.8%), Makueni (54.7%), Kisumu (53.4%), Uasin Gishu (53.1%), West Pokot (52.7%), and Elgeyo Marakwet (51.2%).

In Agriculture sector, Kakamega also emerged the best followed by West Pokot, Makueni, Bungoma, Uasin Gishu.

Kwale came first in terms of education beating out Kakamega, West Pokot, Makueni, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kisumu, Bungoma and Lamu.
