Anyang’ Nyong’o Breaks Silence After Killing of Kisumu Residents

Governor Anyang Nyongo has said that he wants to appeal to politicians from the Kericho side. This is for them to to hold barazas so that there can be peace.

Kipsigis don’t touch anyone unless they’ve been bullied. So talk to your people again not to bully Kipsigis. I remember the first instance where tensions started was the stoning of Wareng matatu during the first maandamano then followed by the stealing of cows in Sondu. Ironically, the kisumu governor supported the maandamano which was building up tensions.

Luos nowadays don’t have weapons like spears that were used by our grandfathers. Kalenjins on the contrary are still possessing weapons like arrows and others. How do you fight with someone who’s armed with poisonous arrows and you’re holding pangas and rungus? Kalenjins don’t face opponents head-on. They ambush. They come during the night and burn houses. That’s been their war ever since. That’s why they were nicknamed by Luos “Lango”( the safari insects that normally attacked during the night.

Kericho needs a Chepkwony-like leader, not that Mutai while Kisumu doesn’t need that Owili guy. These two people are not individuals who can advocate for peace.

Maybe someone like Franklin Bett and Nyon’go should sit their people down. Sober leaders. The provocation brought about by the maandamano has resulted in all these. The loss provoked kipsigis and stole their cows. As County leaders sit down and resolve the issues at hand.

If it’s true the shops were looted and were never compensated what can you tell such a victim, is it not like telling a hungry man to go in peace yet his problem was food you haven’t solved his problem so if shops were vandalized, cows stolen please compensate them for peace to prevail!

Nyumba Kumi security teams and village elders from both sides can’t be that helpless, there’s something they can do to assist in the maintenance of peace. They’re where the “rubber meets the road” but thorough vetting is important in their appointment process.

Peaceful coexistence between the two communities must prevail. Chiefs, village elders, and church leaders are very vital in finding a lasting solution. We are tired of Kenya being bigger than the Chietha narrative from you Luo leaders. Enough is enough. If you’ve decided that we don’t secede then give us arms we defend ourselves. Too much talk, when a call for arms should be made. Instead of peaceful coexistence, they can as well fear each other…whatever it takes to ensure boundaries remain solid.

Kericho’s Governor said he will send their boys to attack Luos in Sondu. Their senator said they want the Sondu market to go to Kericho County, I wonder whom you are addressing. The government fully supports the Luo massacre. The governor is a hypocrite and he should speak the truth. Kipsigis are very peaceful unless provoked. Talk to your people I was in Muhoroni a few days ago and those guys are so provocative.

Let’s please give peace a chance. Baba should keep off. These protests are hurting the small people and the wakubwas have all the protection. To the Kisumu people, you are not learned, and does not suit you to do this. please give peace a chance.

It’s important to realize that nobody has a monopoly on violence. You have encouraged violent demonstrations which have led to instability in the region. Violence begets more violence.
