BABU BREAKS SILENCE AFTER MISSING FINANCE BILL VOTING

MP Babu Owino, representing Embakasi East, has finally addressed the concerns surrounding his absence from Parliament during the important voting session.

In a statement, he revealed that he was unable to attend the session because his court case had been scheduled for the following day, requiring his presence alongside his lawyer for a defense hearing.

Babu Owino explained that his commitment to defending himself in the court of law took precedence over his parliamentary duties on that particular day. He emphasized the importance of fulfilling his legal obligations, stating that he could not neglect his case and risk compromising his defense.

Furthermore, the MP expressed his strong opposition to the bill that was being voted on, referring to it as an oppressive measure that would have detrimental effects on the lives of Kenyans. He firmly believes that supporting such a bill would not align with his duty to protect and advocate for the welfare of his constituents.

While the absence of MPs during crucial voting sessions can raise concerns, it is important to understand the circumstances that led to their non-participation. In this case, Babu Owino’s court hearing and his opposition to the bill were the factors that kept him away from Parliament on that day.
