RUTO LECTURES POPULAR JOURNALIST LIKE A BABY.

President William Ruto on Sunday, May 14, 2023 night held his second roundtable interview since he won the presidency at statehouse, Nairobi. The head of state engaged the journalists on his plans for the country as well as the country’s direction.

One of the journalist raised concern on his recent weight loss since taking over the presidency with Kenyans speculating on his health status. However, Ruto revealed that he has been living a healthy lifestyle compared to during the campaign season where he was taking out the pressure on food. He assured Kenyans that he is well and more healthier.

During the interview, questions on Kenya’s economy and the proposed house levy tax took center stage. According to the president, once parliament approves his proposals, all Kenyans will be required by law to pay a certain percentage to cater for cheaper housing.

In the last stages of the interview, the president was asked on Saturday’s occurrences where he shared a podium with his greatest political enemy Raila Odinga on two different events. Ruto was with Raila at Mukami Kimathi’s burial in the company of his deputy Rigathi Gachagua and later on attended Kip Keino athletics event in Kasarani Stadium wher Raila flanked him. Gachagua was no where to be seen in the Kasarani event.

The journalist asked Ruto why he met Raila alone without Gachagua moments after attending the funeral together. The journalist asked the president whether it was purposely planned to attend the event without his deputy. The question seemed to have irked the president who responded by lecturing the journalist that his deputy is a busy man and it is not a law for them to follow each other in every event.

In addition, the president stated that his deputy had other commitments and would not have managed to attend the sports event saying that there were no prior plans for him to meet with Raila at Kasarani.
