President William Ruto has now moved to deduct Kshs 5000 from every civil servants in a new bill that is before the parliament.

According to the details we have, through the Finance Bill 2023, the Ruto’s regime is seeking an amendment to the Employment Act to provide for deduction of 3.0% of all employees basic salary(matched by another 3.0% from the employer).

This according to the new bill will go towards the National Housing Development Fund and the amount has been capped at Kshs 5000.

It should be noted that this had earlier been opposed by the civil servants including the teachers.
