MATIANG’I DENIES RAILA, UNITES WITH PRESIDENT RUTO

Former Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i is slowly but surely moving closer to the Kenya Kwanza government.

On Monday, March 13 the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji dropped the case of publication of false information and conspiracy to commit a felony that had been put on Matiang’i and his lawyer Danstan Omari by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, DCI.

The decision came less than twelve hours after a meeting between the former CS and Kisii leaders from Kenya Kwanza.

The meeting was headed by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu. Also in attendance were MPs, among them North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko.

Nyamoko informed the Star newspaper of the intrigues of the Sunday night meeting that birthed a likely reunion between Matiang’i and President William Ruto.

He noted that Matiang’i expressed remorse and explained his actions that were deemed to be against the Ruto regime.

For example, during his grilling at the DCI, Matiang’i explained that he did not victimize himself for political expediency.

He noted that he did not even invite Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga to the DCI headquarters to help him. The former Prime Minister took himself there without his knowledge.

“Matiang’i said he did not invite Azimio leader Raila Odinga to intervene when he was being grilled at DCI headquarters. He said Raila just went to DCI and had nothing to do about it.

He said it could be misconstrued that he had something to do with the scene while he had no influence over it. The CS said he was ready to support the government and would come out when the time is right,” Joash Nyamoko narrated to the Star.
