PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA MAKES A NEW REVELATION

President Uhuru Kenyatta has reiterated that he will remain in office until the August General Election is held and a suitable replacement takes the reins at State House despite repeated attacks by a section of Kenya Kwanza politicians.

Speaking in Kasarani, Nairobi County on Tuesday when he officially commissioned Mwiki Level III Hospital, President Kenyatta said that even when he finishes his term he will still just be around as he remains a Kenyan citizen regardless oh whether or not he holds power.

He told off his critics quipping that the Deputy President William Ruto-led outfit has allegedly made him the subject of its conversations instead of focusing on drumming up support for their members who are contesting for elective seats.

“Hawa wengine ni mdomo na matusi. Kila siku wanaenda kwa mkutano, kazi yao nikuongea juu ya Uhuru. Sasa wanaongea juu ya Uhuru na Uhuru hatafuti kura?” said President Kenyatta.

“Ati wananiambia nimalize niende. Nimalize niende wapi si ntakuwa hapa tu na mimi nitafanya kazi yangu hadi dakika ya mwisho.”

According to the President, despite his days in State House being numbered, he is still mandated by law to carry out all his functions such as the commissioning of critical development infrastructure, which he says will continue in the days leading up to next month’s polls.

“Bado kuna hospitali za kufunguliwa, bado kuna barabara za kujengwa, bado kuna kazi mingi za serikali ambazo zinahitaji kufanywa na mimi nitazifanya mpaka nipatie shuguli hiyo mwingine,” he said.

While insisting that he did not bear any resentment towards Kenya Kwanza, President Kenyatta solicited support for Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua saying they are the perfect candidates to take his stead at State House.

“Nawaomba mimi kwa heshima, yule ambaye nitapatia aendelee nayo iwe si mwingine ila Raila Odinga. Tunatafuta kura na naomba mwapatie lakini ile kitu inanifurahisha zaidi ni ya kwamba ni mwananchi ataamua na akishaamua aende nyumbani angojee matokeo na hiyo ndiyo furaha yetu,” said the Head of State.

President Kenyatta likewise labeled the newly-opened Mwiki hospital as a game changer that will revolutionise access to health services in Kasarani.

He noted that it will greatly reduce the time residents spend on looking for health services in neighbouring medical facilities.

“Tayari akina mama 60 wameweza kujifungua hapa. Hawa ni watu ambao zamani walikuwa wanaenda clinic za private na zingine kama Nairobi Hospital. Kwa sasa wanakuja hapa na wanapata kila kitu hapa,” he stated.
