In what is turning out to be a bizarre string of deaths, a shocked Kipchumba Murkomen is now assuring investigations.

May 7th appears to carry the embers of April 7th when Wesley Kibet Kogos who was a contestant for the Nandi Hills Constituency UDA ticket lost his life, an event that would plunge the area in political chaos.

This melee culminated in the subsequent election of controversial incumbent and DP Ruto’s apparent rival Alfred Keter. Hon. Keter would consequently be denied the ticket.

Taking to Twitter, Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen shared news about the death of Mark Bowen who was a UDA aspirant for Sambirir Ward in Elgeyo Marakwet County. L

He said, through the post, that he and the bereaved family, were now waiting for investigations results. The tweet read,

Nandi Hills constituency MP aspirant Wesley Kibet Kogos and his Chaania Ward counterpart Nancy Wanjala Mwashuma died in Nairobi and Mombasa road accidents respectively last month.

Kogos was the first to lose his life in a Thursday morning accident in Kangemi, Nairobi, while on his way to Kass FM studios for an interview.
Police said he was travelling in a matatu headed for Nairobi when it rammed onto a bus.

The accident happened at about 5.30 am.
At the time, Nairobi police traffic boss Joshua Omukata said they are investigating the incident.

“He is the only one who died then. We didn’t know he was the aspirant,” said Omukata.
Mwashuma on the other hand died while on her way to her brother’s burial which was slated for Saturday, April 9.
