LIST OF TOP POLITICIANS WHO LOST UDA NOMINATION TICKET

A host of Deputy President William Ruto’s top allies have been trounced in the just concluded UDA primaries.

Top of the list of the notable politicians who were floored in the nominations includes Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru, Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, Former Devolution CS Charles Keter, Soy MP Caleb Kositany, Former Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Former Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Moses Cheboi.

Here is a full list of bigwigs who have lost in the primaries;

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Moses Cheboi


Deputy Speaker Moses Cheboi, who is also the incumbent Kuresoi North MP, was beaten by Alfred Mutai. Mutai garnered 17,247 votes against Cheboi’s 12,454 votes.

Thika MP Patrick Wainaina Wa Jungle


The lawmaker who was gunning for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat on a UDA ticket was beaten by Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi. Wamatangi managed 68,786 votes against Wa Jungle’s 50,446 votes.

Former Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu


Former Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu was also part of the aspirants who were floored by Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi.

Keiyo North MP James Murgor


Keiyo North MP James Murgor has also lost his bid to defend his parliamentary seat on UDA’s party ticket. Murgor was trounced by Kipchumba Murkomen’s aide Adams Kipsanai.

Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara


Jayne Kihara lost her re-election bid to former Naivasha MP John Kihagi. Kihagi garnered 10,394 votes against Kihara’s 9991 votes.

Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru

Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru lost her Laikipia East parliamentary bid to the incumbent MP Amin Deddy. Waruguru managed 5,595 votes against Deddy’s who garnered 12,723 votes
