AZIMIO LA UMOJA MESSAGE TO WILLIAM RUTO

Leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga have told off Deputy President William Ruto for his consistent attacks on the Head of State.

The leaders, led by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, held Azimio la Umoja rallies in Siaya County where they called on their supporters to use their numerical strength on election day to elect former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as President Kenyatta’s successor.

With Odinga out of the country, the Azimio campaign teams trooped to Siaya County, with campaign stops at Ugunja, Alego Usonga and Bondo centres.

They directed their salvos at DP Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance over what they termed as sustained verbal attacks on President Kenyatta.

Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi, on his part, said: “This is the election in which we’re going to teach William Ruto a lesson of his life.”

The leaders accused the deputy president of lacking basic courtesies, saying Ruto had crossed the red line.

“Mimi nataka kumwambia William Ruto, Baba hapana size yako…ukimkosea heshima, tutakulazimisha umheshimu…nataka nikuambie ukitukujia tutakukujia…ukituletea noma tutakuletea noma,” said Governor Joho.

The rallies in Siaya County also saw the leaders rally Odinga’s backyard to ensure a high voter turn out on election day.

Ruto allies have been terming the ODM leader as a State project in upcoming polls, but Odinga allies are pushing back on the claim.

“Mimi nimeskia William Ruto akisema ati Baba ni project…nataka kumwambia nikiwa hapa Siaya, ya kwamba Baba is the people’s project,” said Suna East MP Junet Mohamed.

“Baba ambaye Wakenya wanajua…ambaye amepigania hii nchi tangu tupate uhuru…anaweza kuwa project kweli?” Posed Homa Bay Woman Rep. Gladys Wanga.
