PANIC IN RAILA’S CAMP AS UHURU WELCOMES RUTO’S PRESIDENCY.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is now blowing hot and cold in regard to his succession and supporting ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Weeks after endorsing Raila of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party and vowing to campaign for hm, the President has taken a back seat.

According to Jubilee vice-chairman David Murathe, Kenyans should not expect the Head of State to hit the campaign trail.

But what shocked Azimio supporters is Murathe’s admission that the Head of State is ready to hand over power to whoever carries the day between Raila and his main rival, Deputy President William Ruto.

He stated that Raila and his running mate, Martha Karua, must sell their ticket without expecting help from the President.

“Uhuru is not on the ticket. He will going home in the next 80 days and he has to oversee a peaceful transition and peaceful election. He has stepped into his shoe of being the President and the Commander-in-Chief.

“You don’t expect him to hit the ground running that’s why you find it is Martha and Raila. They are both on the ticket,” he said.

This is a big contradiction from Murathe, who is a personal friend of the President, as in the past he has said Uhuru will not hand over power to a thief (Ruto). He had also said Uhuru will be around after his term comes to and end.

It had been expected that the Head of State would enter the fray and start marketing Raila in his Mt Kenya backyard.

However, Jubilee Director of Elections Kanini Kega still maintains that Uhuru will introduce Raila to Mt Kenya next month.

Deputy President William Ruto and his allies have been asking the President to refrain from interfering with his succession.
