POPULAR MP DIES IN NAIROBI

Popular Kenyan mp is dead. Former Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti is dead, several sources have revealed.

The former lawmaker, popularly known as ‘Livondo’ passed away after a short illness on Sunday morning.

Mwiti, running as an independent candidate, lost his seat to Jubilee’s Moses Kirima in the 2017 elections.

The politician has spent the last few years of his life trying to extricate himself from rape charges.

He is accused of raping and assaulting a woman at a club in Nairobi in 2015.

According to the court documents, on March 21, 2015 at Tana club along Woodvale Groove Westlands within Nairobi County, Mwiti internally and unlawfully obtained consent and raped a woman.

Mwiti is also said to have committed an indecent act with a child contrary to the law on similar dates and place.

The case is still ongoing in court.
