FORMER HARAMBEE STARS PLAYER FOUND DEAD

Amanaka played for Kenya Breweries, Kenya Pipeline, AFC Leopards, Sofapaka and Harambee Stars in his day – He was found dead at his home and it is believed he passed away days before his body was found.

Former Harambee Stars defender Zablon Amanaka is dead.

Zablon Amanaka last made a public appearance on May 19. Source: UGC Zablon, 45, was found dead in his house in Maji Mazuri, Mwiki. on Friday, May 28.

Sofapaka, a club Amanaka played for in the past, were among the first to announce his passing with a condolence message. “Our deepest condolences to family and friends of the late Zablon Amanaka. During his stay at the club, Amanaka served us diligently and passionately, indeed the sporting fraternity has lost true icon.”

A club statement from Sofapaka read. The cause of death remains unclear although TUKO.co.ke understands the former defender had been dead for a couple of days before his body was found.

Amanaka’s passing comes as a surprise to many who knew him, especially because he only made public appearances a few days ago. As a matter of fact, one of his last public appearances was in May 19 where he featured in an interview with football journalist Bramwell Karamoja.
