CORONA AFFECTS DP RUTO

It seems Corona Virus will greatly affect DP Ruto’s race to State House.

Because of the surging Corona cases, the deputy president has been forced to suspend his much publicized tours to Machakos, Kitui and Makueni counties till the curve flattens.

Tweeting from his official accounts, the Deputy President expressed worry about the surging numbers and said for everyone’s safety he will be scaling down engagements.

“The upsurge in Covid19 cases strongly indicates that a second wave may be in the offing. For this reason,

I have decided to significantly scale down my public engagements until further notice. The empowerment meetings for this weekend in Machakos, Kitui and Makueni are postponed, ” the DP said.

The ministry of health is warning Kenyans about not following WHO and GoK health protocols especially public gatherings. This has been touted as one of the reasons the numbers are rising everyday.

Machakos County Governor and presidential aspirant Dr Alfred Mutua has also postponed his countrywide listening tours due to the rising cases.

“Due to the rising COVID cases, which appear more serious than before, I am POSTPONING my nationwide Listening Tours until the situation improves.

I urge other leaders to also be RESPONSIBLE & halt their public meetings & to lead by example by wearing masks, keeping distance etc, ” he said.

“Wananchi mimic how we carry ourselves because they believe we are privy to more information. If we look like there is nothing to worry about, Wananchi behave accordingly, placing themselves in danger. My fellow leaders, GREED for power should be tempered. LIFE & health first.”

The suspension of political rallies by the two leaders puts the BBI team in a tight spot as they were planning to restart their campaigns for constitutional amendments.
