Raila Finally Breaks Silence

The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance boss Raila Odinga has finally addressed the decision by the Former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa not to sign the final report by the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO).

Wamalwa who was among the five members of the Azimio delegation team claimed that he was not going to tender his signature, on claims that the 10-member committee co-chaired by the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and the Majority leader in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah did not conclusively address the cost of living.

In a presser on Wednesday, even though Raila agreed with Wamalwa that the issue of cost of living is incomplete, he claimed that the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP -K) leader was not in the country when the team unveiled the report, but he will now tender his signature.

“No, there are no differences in Azimio over this report. Wamalwa was just here during the meeting but had to step out because he had some pressing matters to deal with, but he has approved the report as represented by the team.”

“He has not been in the country when this report was being signed, but he is going to append his signature on the report,” said Raila.

The ODM boss embraced the report, but noted that the issue on the creation of the Office of the Opposition leader and the entrenchment of the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary must go through a referendum.

Listen to Raila, from minute 10:30.
