Raila Makes Changes on Bipartisan Talks

A consultation with the coalition’s lawmakers was held on August 1 by one of the Kenya Coalition’s leaders, Azimio la Umoja a day after the group unveiled its five members in preparation for talks with Ruto’s team.

Speaking on the coalition’s behalf via the ODM’s official social media platforms, Kalonzo Musyoka will continue to serve as the lead negotiator and addressed some of the important points voiced a day earlier.

The Hon. Opiyo Wandayi, Senator Omogeni, and Malindi MP Amuyanzi will accompany Kalonzo in addition to the former defence cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa.

The coalition’s leader, Hon. Raila Odinga, served as the meeting’s chairman. According to the report, the meeting decided to endorse the Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka-led team’s appointment to the Dialogue Committee.

The timing of this coincides with the expected listing of the five members of the Kenya Kwanza government, of Ruto’s cabinet before to prospective negotiations with the opposition.

It should be emphasised that, along with IEBC changes, the cost of living ranks as one of the top priorities for the Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition.

Martha Karua, the leader of the Narc Kenya party, was in attendance, along with Jeremiah Kioni, the secretary general of the Jubilee Party, George Wajackoyah, the leader of the Roots party, and Mwangi Wa Iria, a former governor of the Murang’a region.
