Exact Day and Time KCPE Results Will Be Released

The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results are set to be released this week to allow for the placement of Form One students before Christmas.

Inside source close to the council who spoke to Teachers Arena revealed that the results will be released on Thursday this week at Mtihani House as the marking of the papers has been completed.

Earlier Basic Education Principal Secretary Dr Belio Kipsang had said that the KCPE and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) results will be out by November 30.

“We expect the results out early so that placement of students in form one can be done before Christmas to allow parents ample time to prepare,” he said.

The KCPE and KPSEA exams began on October 30, 2023, and were completed on November 1, 2023. In 2023, at least 1,415,315 candidates sat for the KCPE exams, while a total of 1,282,574 candidates sat for their KPSEA assessments.

KPSEA is the new primary exit examination under the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) and is administered in Grade 6. It will be done to monitor learner achievement and not the placement of candidates.

This was the last KCPE exam to be done in the country after 38 years of its implementation as the Education Ministry moves to replace the 8-4-4 curriculum with the Competency-Based Curriculum, which is a 2-6-6-3 system.
