Ruto Sends Gachagua to a New Country to Conduct this Business

Kenyan Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will represent President William Ruto at the 16th Summit of the Group of 77 and China (G77) in Havana, Cuba. The summit will be held from September 15-18, 2023.

The G77 is a grouping of developing countries that was established in 1964 to promote their collective economic interests and to strengthen their negotiating positions in international forums. The group currently has 134 members.

The summit in Havana will focus on the theme of “Strengthening South-South Cooperation for Sustainable Development.” The delegates are expected to discuss a number of issues, including climate change, poverty eradication, and food security.

Gachagua is a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), the party that Ruto is leading in the 2022 presidential election. He is seen as a key figure in Ruto’s campaign and is expected to use the summit to promote Ruto’s agenda.

In a statement, Gachagua said that he was honored to represent Ruto at the summit. He said that he would use the opportunity to “highlight Kenya’s commitment to South-South cooperation and to promote our country’s interests on the global stage.”

The G77 summit is a significant event for Kenya and for Ruto’s presidential campaign. It will be an opportunity for Kenya to showcase its commitment to South-South cooperation and to promote its interests on the global stage. It will also be an opportunity for Gachagua to raise Ruto’s profile and to build support for his candidacy.
