Sad Suicide Note A 30 yr Old Woman Left Behind

The tragic incident that unfolded in Katheri village, Meru County, has left the entire community in shock and mourning.

A 30-year-old woman, Irene Makandi, took her own life just hours before her elder sister, Fridah Karwiro’s funeral.

Her body was discovered hanging from a tree outside her father’s house on Wednesday morning, casting a pall over the already grieving community.

In a heart-wrenching twist, a suicide note was found, in which Irene expressed her deep remorse for causing pain to her parents and relatives.

She acknowledged the love and care she had received from her parents and asked for forgiveness. Her note contained a heartfelt plea for her burial wishes to be honored.

She requested to be laid to rest in the same grave as her sister Fridah, wearing the clothes she had on at the time of her passing, and without a coffin.

Irene had been actively involved in the funeral preparations for her sister, serving as the treasurer of the burial preparation committee.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing mental health concerns within our communities.

It also highlights the need for open and supportive dialogue surrounding mental health issues, as signs of depression and despair can often be hidden behind a façade of normalcy.

The Katheri village community now faces not only the sorrow of losing two sisters but also the profound shock of Irene’s unexpected and tragic end.
