Exact Time Raila’s Supporters Can Meet Him in His Office

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has revealed what time the Azimio leader gets to the office.

The Senator spoke on Friday night during an interview with TV47.

He said he officially met Raila right after the 2013 general election which Raila had lost to former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Sifuna said he first met Raila when he was still in campus but had an interactive session with him when he visited his office after the 2013 general election.

“In 2013 Raila had lost the election. Hio time after election ndo kufikia Baba hukua rahisi sana kwa sababu kila mtu huwa amepotea (That time after election is when it becomes very easy to reach the Baba because everyone gets lost),” Sifuna said.

He said when he got to Raila’s office, he found him seated and tea was brought for the two of them.

Sifuna said Raila asked him who he was and he went ahead to introduce himself and aired the reason for his visit.

“I told him this election is done and we should start preparing for the next one because five years is not a long period. That is how Baba and I got to know each other,” Sifuna said.

At the time, ODM was reconstituting its think-tank and Sifuna was chosen to be in the team that would help Raila secure the next general election.

“Our very first meeting was in Raila’s home, he has a gazebo out there and a chair was brought for me. Looking around the table, the people that were there made me shiver a bit. I even asked myself whether I really deserve to be on that table,” Sifuna said.

Among the people Sifuna found in Raila’s think-tank back then was the President’s economic advisor David Ndii.

“Watu wazito walikua pale kwa hio meza,” Sifuna said.
