Gachagua Requests Raila to Meet Him For a Talk

The tensions in Kenya’s political climate had been high until Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s recent statement on the government’s commitment to addressing the grievances of ODM leader Raila Odinga.

As expected, there were mixed reactions to the Deputy President’s assurance.

While some Kenyans welcomed the development, others were not impressed.

At a funds drive in Nandi County, Gachagua expressed that he was ready to work with Odinga to ensure that the issues he had raised were resolved within the confines of the law.

However, following the Deputy President’s statement, Raila had a change of heart.

He now feels that staying indoors during future protests is a safer approach to achieve electoral justice and cost-of-living demands.

The goal, according to him, was to prevent any further loss of life as a result of violent protests.
