Commonwealth Surprises Kenyans After Releasing Findings of 2022 Election

Today, the commonwealth has come out to release their findings on the 2022 general elections in the republic of Kenya where Dr William Ruto managed to defeat the ODM leader hon Raila Odinga who is now the opposition chief.

As seen from their tweet, commonwealth has said that their observers have concluded that Kenya’s 2022 elections were free and fair despite some of the difficulties encountered during the voting day.

This team also lauded the IEBC for their dedication and hardwork during the past elections. They also praised Kenya for some technological improvements on election matters. Their report has been submitted to the government of Kenya and other stakeholders.

The 15-member delegation, led by The Hon. Bruce Golding, former Prime Minister of Jamaica, concluded that, despite some challenges, the election was on the whole credible, transparent, inclusive and largely peaceful.

The Group noted the dedication and hard work of the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) staff and polling staff in undertaking this complex logistical operation.” Reads part of their report.
