Former IEBC Official Appointed to Govt Role

The names of two people named to significant posts by Cabinet Secretary for Energy Davis Chirchir can now be released.

Former Independent Electoral And Boundaries Commission Vice Chairperson Lilian Mahiri-Zaja is one of two people appointed to significant government positions by Davis Chirchir.

When Isaac Hassan was the Chairperson of the Independent Electoral And Boundaries Commission, Lillian Bokeeye Mahiri-Zaja was the Vice Chairperson.

Davis Chirchir, Cabinet Secretary for Energy, has appointed Lillian Bokeeye Mahiri-Zaja and Henry Gathanga Karinga to the Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited, using the powers granted to him by Section 6(1)(e) of the State Corporation Act.

According to the gazette notification, the two were appointed to significant positions on August 4, 2023. They will be in this position for a year.
