Sudan Hackers Takes Down Govt Websites

Just days after daring president William Ruto to intervene in the Sudan conflict by using Kenya Army, an anonymous Sudan hackers group has attacked Kenya, downing several government websites and also targeting private entities.

Sudanese General Yasir Al-Atta had told President William Ruto that he should leave the East African Community Force and instead use Kenya Army to intervene in the Sudan conflict. He said that they were waiting for him.

The anonymous group has targeted government websites offering services to Kenyans like e-Citizen and NTSA, affecting applications and renewal of Driving Licences, birth certificates, business registrations, marriage certificates, passports, and certificates of good conduct among others.

Speaking just some moments ago at Spice FM, Cabinet Secretary for ICT Eliud Owalo has confirmed that there was a cyber attack on the E-Citizen platform but no data was accessed or lost.

Owalo revealed that the hackers tried jamming the system by making more than ordinary request into the system thereby slowing down the system.
