GACHAGUA KICKS OUT SEC GEN CLEOPHAS MALALA

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua today paid a surprise visit to the UDA party headquarters (popular known as Hustler Center).

Gachagua who doubles up as the UDA Deputy Party leader, was received by the party’s leadership including UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala.

Speaking at a press briefing during the visit, Gachagua was asked about his stance on how the party’s affairs are being run.

One of the journalist told Gachagua that one of the UDA members said in an interview today morning, that he is not happy with how the UDA Secretary General is transacting the affairs of the party.

Responding to the journalist, Gachagua said that the good thing with UDA is that it is a democratic party and everyone is allowed to speak his/her mind freely.

He said that the reason they abandoned Jubilee Party is because it was full of dictatorship and no one could talk ill about the leadership of the Jubilee party.

“UDA party encourages democracy. The reason we ran away from Jubilee was because of dictatorship. You could not even talk about the chairman or Vice Chairman even if they did something wrong but in UDA, members are free to talk,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua revealed that he took part of his time to correct UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala on some things he felt the Secretary General was not doing right.

He said that it was okay for members of the party to critique the Secretary General, but insisted that the Secretary General have the opportunity to change on what members may feel is not being done right.

He also said that if the members will still feel that Malala is not leading the party in the right direction, them they will have no option but to kick him out from the position.

Gachagua left the leaders in stitches when he public warned Malala to change or face ejection during the press briefing.

“I have told him(Malala), he must improve. If he don’t, then we kick him out,” Gachagua said.
