DCI HEADQUARTERS ON FIRE

Hundreds of followers of the former leader of Mungiki Maina Njenga have gathered outside the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters chanting Mau Mau songs where their leader is being held.

In a video that has gone viral on different social media platforms, hundreds of supporters are seen singing Gikuyu songs associated with Mau Mau freedom fighters as they show solidarity with Maina Njenga.

Also, Narc Kenya party leader Hon Martha Karua is among the leaders who arrived at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters to show solidarity with Maina Njenga who is currently being grilled by the detective.

This comes after the ex-Mungiki leader was arrested after surrendering himself to police officers in Nakuru. He was arraigned and released and ordered to show up at DCI headquarters on Thursday for further grilling and interrogation.

Maina Njenga’s woes began when police raided his residence and found rolls of bhang and a firearm. After a day of running into hiding, he turned himself in.

While addressing the media on Wednesday, Azimio la Umoja leaders accused the government of intimidating its supporters. Azimio demanded that Maina Njenga and Gaucho be released immediately.
