POPULAR POLITICIAN FOUND BURIED AT SHAKAHOLA

Detectives on Saturday exhumed 22 more bodies from mass graves in Shakahola Forest, Kilifi County, on land linked to cult leader Paul Mackenzie.

Coast Regional Commissioner, Rhoda Onyancha, confirmed the news in a press briefing on Saturday.

The number of missing persons has increased by one since Friday, with 610 people now reported missing.

Ms Onyancha reported that no rescues were made on Saturday but shared some positive news, announcing that 14 victims had been reunited with their families. The number of DNA samples collected stands at 93.

Ms Onyancha also revealed that the exhumations have been suspended for two days until Tuesday, May 16, to allow for reorganization of logistical support. The search and rescue operation, however, continues.

The discovery of the mass graves has sent shockwaves through the community, and the authorities are working tirelessly to locate and rescue as many missing persons as possible.

The investigation into the cult leader’s involvement in the heinous crime is ongoing, and detectives are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to bring those responsible to justice.
