RAILA CALLS OFF MASS ACTION.

Raila Odinga has made a decision. He is willing to put a stop to the mass actions that have been unfolding this past week if one specific condition is met.

In order for President William Ruto to be held accountable for the rigging allegations, Odinga has proposed that the servers of the IEBC be opened and their contents made public.

Odinga has insisted that he is knowledgeable on the subject and has affirmed that this could provide solid evidence of his accusations.

Although President Ruto is seemingly ready to let bygones be bygones, many have voiced their opinion in the hope of finding some form of accountability.

And although the Supreme Court validated Ruto’s triumph, it is only right that the people’s voices be heard, even if it requires drastic measures.

So, in an attempt to finally resolve the situation, let us hope that President Ruto reconsiders Odinga’s offer, which may yet restore a sense of justice and peace to our troubled nation.

Raila had no choice but to make a strong case in order to stand up for what is right. His allegations are not unfounded, and his exposure of the game played to achieve a favorable ruling against him only further reinforces the validity of his claims.

The unfairness of the Supreme Court’s decision is clear and he seeks justice, however that may come.

Though the next presidential election is years away, it is possible Ruto is indeed looking to reassemble the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission with friendly appointees to potentially guarantee a positive outcome in the 2027 polls.

If Ruto succeeds, it will mean a corrupt power structure within the commission that could keep Raila from having a fair chance in the upcoming elections.

We cannot sit by idly and watch that happen, and we must keep a watchful eye on the situation. Raila has certainly put his point across; now we must hold those in power accountable for their decisions and ensure all future rulings are made with fairness and justice in mind.
