FAKE MONEY IN CIRCULATION IN THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY.

A fake money alert has been issued by Kenyans on social media. Viral reports are saying some an unknown woman in a buibui is moving around in the capital, Nairobi, visiting different M-PESA agents and disposting fake money.

One M-PESA agent is reportedly counting losses after the woman visited her outlet and deposited a huge amount of money.

The M-PESA agent later realized that she had been given at least Sh50,000 fake money, all in Sh1000 notes.

The pictures of the said fake money had the same serial number.

“Fake money is now in circulation in the town. A middle-aged woman in a buibui/black dera is moving around M-pesa depositing money.

“A lady has just lost 50k last evening after depositing the said amount to the fraudster. Please inform members of the public,” the source said.

Police officers are yet to arrest the woman. It is also not clear whether the woman is working alone with her accomplices
