WHY AZIMIO HAS ALREADY WON BUNGOMA BY-ELECTION

The Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition has unveiled Wafula Wamunyinyi as its flag bearer in the Bungoma senatorial by-election.

In a press address on Thursday, Azimio leader Raila Odinga said the coalition had settled on the former Kanduyi MP, who is a member of DAP-K party and handed him the nomination certificate.

“We are certain that Wamunyinyi will fly Azimio’s flag high in the Bungoma contest. We wish him well,” said Mr Odinga.

The Bungoma senatorial seat was left vacant after Moses Wetangula vacated the seat following his appointment as the National Assembly Speaker.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is set to conduct the by-election on December 8.

On the same date, the commission will also conduct by-elections in Ololmasani, Kyome/Thaana, Utawala, Mumias North and South Gem Wards.
