LIST OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE DUMPED RAILA FOR RUTO

Giant teachers’ organisations have changed tune following the recent victory of Deputy President William Ruto.

Though the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) and the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) had earlier been supporting Mr Odinga, they have regrouped and pledged to work with the elected president for teachers’ brighter future.

Led by KUPPET Secretary General Akelo Misori, they stated that Ruto as the new president had demonstrated willingness to improve teaching profession and lives of teachers in the country.

“We extend our congratulations to President-elect William Samoei Ruto and affirm our commitment to deepening our partnership with the government in the interest of Kenyan teachers and the education sector as a whole,” Misori stated.

Adding weight to this remark, KNUT led by Secretary General Collin Oyuu said by William Ruto beating his fierce rival Raila Odinga, it therefore becomes a good thing to support his leadership going forward.

“Pursuit for political leadership calls for intensive persuasion to the population towards winning their support to our dream positions; this you have done and won the hearts of more Kenyans than your competitors,” he noted.

Both organisations have since pledged to start working with the government of the day in the spirit of unity and development.

DP Ruto of Kenya Kwanza alliance won the August 9 general election by beating Azimio la Umoja rival with around 200,000 votes.
