MIKE SONKO’S MESSAGE TO AZIMIO THAT HAS CAUSED CHAOS

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has sent out a warning to the Azimio la Umoja Coalition party over sibling rivalry.

In a statement on Facebook on Monday, June 27, the ex-county boss said that members of the party were busy fighting each other instead of drumming up support for their presidential candidate.

The flamboyant politician said that he had quite an experience in politics and warned of consequences.

“Write it somewhere my little experience I have in politics for the last 15 years this ujuaji ya pesa nane which started from the party nominations to selective application of the constitution when clearing candidates very soon italeta hasara kubwa sana,” Sonko stated.

Sonko remarks come even as the Raila Oding-led coalition party has been engaged with sibling rivalry among its constituents over fielding of candidates.

Meanwhile, Sonko has also been battling to be cleared to run for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat and  last Friday he received a boost after the high court dismissed petitions seeking to bar candidates with integrity questions from vying in the August 9 polls.

According to a ruling by a three-judge bench, the case on Sonko was presented prematurely.

“Jurisdiction of this court should not be invoked until the mechanisms before the IEBC are exhausted. We decline jurisdiction on those cases,” the three-judge bench ruled.
