WHAT WAS NOTED ON RAILA’S PAPERS THAT SHOCKED MANY.

It is now clear that Azimo la Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s academic credentials showed that he holds a masters degree in mechanical engineering.

On Sunday, June 5, when Raila was submitting his academic papers to the Independence Election and Boundary Commision (IEBC) to be cleared to vie for the presidency, it showed he has a master’s in mechanical engineering.

This comes after a series of attacks on Raila from his critics, who claimed that his academic background was suspicious.

Nominated MP David Ole Sankok once poked holes in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila’s academic qualifications.

Raila’s early education
Sankok, who spoke in Nakuru on Tuesday, June 22, said Raila risks being locked out of the 2022 General Election should the law on degree take effect.

However, his papers show that he went to Kisumu Union Primary School, Maranda Primary and Maranda High School in his early primary education, where he stayed until 1962.

He later joined Herder Institut, where he spent two years as a part of the philological faculty at the University of Leipzig in East Germany.

In 1965, Raila received a scholarship that sent him to Magdeburg’s Technical School (now a part of Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg).

After completing his education in Germany and earning a master’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1970, Raila returned to Kenya to become a lecturer at the University of Nairobi.
