LIST OF POLITICIANS WHO WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO VIE IN 2022

Huma Rights activist Okiya Omtatah has filed a case seeking to have persons with integrity issues blocked from vying in the 2022 General Elections.

Omtatah says that he is concerned that many people adversely mentioned in thefts of public funds want to vie for political seats.

“..including the so-called COVID-19 billionaires are lining up to vie at the 9th August 2022 general elections for various positions at the county and national levels of government,” reads court documents fled under a certificate of urgency.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has already commenced preparations for the 2022 General Elections.

According to the petitioner, the best way to ensure good governance, including stopping the rampant theft of public funds and the general lack of transparency and accountability in the public sector is to ensure that only people with integrity are elected into State offices at both the county and national levels of government.
