MUSALIA MUDAVADI EXPOSES RAILA ODINGA

Musalia Mudavadi, the ANC’s leader, has slammed ODM leader Raila Odinga’s promise of a 6k-a-month stipend to poor families if he is elected, calling it “sweet words from politicians that are practically impossible.”

Mudavadi, a 2022 presidential candidate who spoke to a congregation on Sunday at the Quakers Friends International Centre on Ngong Road, said that even if the welfare program is implemented, it will increase the taxpayer’s burden.

“How can these politicians, ,where you are promised a social welfare economy model by getting 6K, where is that money going to come from, this is a lie to lure voters, but it cannot be implemented and if it’s achieved then tax will be increased on you Kenyans,” the ANC leader said on Sunday.

According to Mudavadi, Kenyans should be wary of bribery, handouts, and empty promises that are unlikely to be fulfilled.

“As we approach the next general elections, we must give this country what is good, we must not be convinced by handouts, bribery or by sweet words from politicians who promise you things that are practically impossible,” he added.

Meanwhile, ODM leader Raila Odinga has insisted that the welfare program will become a reality should he be elected Kenya’s fifth president .

During a tour of Turkana in October, Odinga said his plan to offer Ksh6,000 monthly to poor families and the youth will go a long way in bridging the poverty gap.

He followed it up at a public rally in Kamukunji, saying  the welfare  plan aims to reach at least 8 million people in just one year after its rollout

“We have a plan to ensure that we get to resuscitate the economy and Kenya to progress. We can and I am ready if I am told to continue with this endeavor,” he said.

The former Prime Minister said the program is feasible and will be funded by sealing all the graft loopholes through which Kenya loses money.
