SENATOR MILLICENT OMANGA ON BEING ARRESTED

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has dismissed reports that surfaced on Sunday night indicating that she had been arrested.

The viral claims alleged that the Senator had been arrested for flouting curfew regulations with reports indicating that she had been arrested in Nairobi’s Hurlingham area and held at Kileleshwa Police Station.

Taking to Social media, the lawmaker trashed the allegations as mere rumours being peddled by bloggers.

“Watu wangu mimi niko sawa ka usingizi kananibamba tu…izo zingine ni story. #MamaMiradi #MamaKanairo” Wrote the Senator.

The claims which have since been confirmed to be false indicated that the DP Ruto adherent was arrested for operating a Wines and spirits business past 10PM when the curfew starts and would spend the night at the Kileleshwa police station and will be processed and arraigned in court.

“Millicent Omanga arrested for operating a Wines and Spirits shop past curfew hours at Hurlingham tonight.. She’ll experience the real Bottoms Up economy tonight! We wish her well!” Wrote one Kenyan in the wake of the claims.

The new covid-19 containment measures imposed by the government through the Ministry of Health stipulates that all wines and spirits shops should be operated between 10am to 8.30 pm.

This comes just days after yet another DP Ruto ardent supporter and Mathira lawmaker Rigathi Gachagua was dramatically arrested from his  Nyeri home.

“As predicted, two dozens of DCI officers raided my Nyeri home and arrested me to face trumped-up charges of money laundering.

“I am being driven to Nairobi at reckless speed to spend the weekend in the cells,” read part of the post shared by Gachagua at the time.
