SAD NEWS IN RAILA’S PARTY AS THEY LOSE ANOTHER TOP POLITICIAN

2017 Female aspirant Florence Aluodo, who vied for the position of women representative in Siaya county, is dead.

Mrs Aluodo died due to Covid-19 complications while receiving treatment at Mater Hospital in Nairobi. She has been in and out of hospital for quite some time.

Aluodo vied as an Independent candidate after decamping from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) over claims of shambolic nominations.

Mrs Aluodo competed against women representative Christine Ombaka and lost to her during the 2017 general election.

She campaigned alongside ODM leader Raila Odinga first cousin former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo and Former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo.

Aluodo was eulogised by Siaya residents and politicians in social media accounts as a dedicated team leader.

Siaya Senator James Orengo on his Twitter account said he was shocked to receive the news of the passing on of Florence Aluodo.

He eulogised her as a fantastic organizer of grassroot & community projects.

“She had so much promise but the cruel hand of death has taken her away. May the family get the strength & fortitude to bear the loss,”read part of Orengo’s tweet.

On her side, Ombaka, the current Siaya County women representative, eulogised her as a very strong political leader in the country.

“We contested together in 2013 and 2017 for the Woman rep position and still we remained friends. Its God who giveth and taketh” wrote Ombaka on her Twitter account.
