PRESIDENT UHURU SHOCKS THE NATION AFTER DOING THIS DURING MADARAKA DAY

The 58th Madaraka Day celebrations are being held at the newly refurbished Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Kisumu County.

President Uhuru Kenyatta led the country in celebrating the day in an event that was attended by his deputy William Ruto, ODM leader Raila Odinga, cabinet secretaries, party leaders and a host of dignitaries.

President Uhuru made a surprising turn after he breached protocol and invited Raila to speak after his deputy had addressed the nation.

It began after the Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o gave his speech and welcomed the DP to make his remarks.

The DP upon finishing his speech went on to invite the President.

It was expected that the ODM leader will address Kenyans but not before the deputy since protocol dictates that it is the DP who welcomes the President at such a national event.

Also, it was somewhat impossible for President Uhuru to address the nation without his Handshake partner saying a word given that the two have in the last two days launched and inspected development projects in Luo Nyanza counties.

According to the Madaraka Day program, Raila’s name was missing from the list of those who will speak.

The program indicated that Governor Nyong’o will speak, invite the DP who will, in turn, welcome President Uhuru.

This is not the first time protocol is being breached.

In October last year during the launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), the DP spoke first and invited the ODM leader to give his remarks and in turn welcome the President.
