KENYAN MP LAUNCHES A TELEVISION SET

Success in politics largely depends on how popular you are among your constituents. One way of endearing oneself to voters has been through launching projects. They can be development enablers or social infrastructure. Kenyan politicians have been sometimes accused of hoodwinking voters with low level projects.

Kesses MP Swarup Mishra has found himself being trolled for launching a television set. Perhaps people are not against him buying a TV set but by going all the way to elaborately launch it. Mishra is on his first term as MP for Kesses. He also runs MediHeal Group of Hospitals majorly found in Uasin Gishu County.

Mishra found himself getting trolled even by Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi who retweeted his pictures launching the television set. Ahmednasir is a top lawyer and offers occasional political commentary on Kenya mainstream media and on his social media pages.

Although not verified, one social media user came to the defense of Mishra. According to Nesta, the MP was not only launching a TV but an entertainment center. This was a project initiated by Kesses Youth and they beseeched their MP to help in which he obliged. The center will reportedly be used to air football matches.

The photos going round online though only show the MP launching a TV set. There is no photographs of him launching the entertainment center. It could be that the entertainment center was already in existence or it was not captured during the launch. Below are more pictures from the launch:
